Chris Cornell, Prescription Drugs and the Things that Steal Our Peace
As a child of the 90’s my friends and I were avid Soundgarden fans. The whole Seattle grunge scene spoke to me. That sort of depressed, disenfranchised with society world view…it kind of defined me. I grew out of the thrift store clothing and cut off my long hair but the music stayed with me. I wasn’t one of the Christians that threw away my CDs when I got saved, those lyrics still spoke to me and

“Mountains…MOVE!”
I hope this 24 minute video on the connection between right believing about God and walking in our authority in Christ is an encouragement to you. God put it on my heart to record this video a few days ago and pray at the end over everyone in need of a miracle/healing/breakthrough! If you have […]

Jump and Trust the Parachute
The fourth lesson from the Great Physician is found in the stilling of the storm on the Sea of Galilee in Matthew 8:18,23-27. The same incident is also recorded in Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25. "Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side" (verse 8 [...]

590. Good News About Sanctification
Identity Based vs Performance Based Christianity
A newly created child of God is not defined by their actions, they are defined by what kind of being they are. The believer has been plucked out of death and engrafted into God by Christ. Each and every believer is now alive in Him!
If you were to be judged by God right now, it wouldn’t be sin that he would use to define you, it would be whether or not you’re in Jesus. The difference maker is whetter or not you have the spirit of God in you.
Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
A performance based approach to relationship with God is rooted in self-righteousness. Performance based Christianity keeps you believing that you are going to become a better Christian one day. It never allows you to realize who you are in Christ, now. I want to help you understand and naturally live from the new creation reality that you are righteous because you’re in Jesus
Take a moment to answer these questions…
- When you read the Bible and see passages that address who God is, do you believe them and adapt your perspective of God to match his revealed word?
- When you read the Bible and see passages that address who Jesus is, do you believe them and adapt your perspective of Jesus to match his revealed word?
- When you read the Bible and see passages that address who you are, do you believe them and adapt your perspective of yourself to match his revealed word?
Here’s what I mean by the third question. Read these passages and then ask yourself if you believe you’re righteous.
Romans 4:5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
You can rebuild your self-image from a reality that’s greater than your physical ability. To have a different life you have to do things differently than you’re doing now. You have to see yourself differently, think differently. You can have a completely different future that’s not defined by your past. The best way to do that is continually remind yourself of your inheritance as a child of God and who you now are in Christ. Believe what the Word says about YOU!

Right Standing with God Comes ONLY by Faith
This week’s Forward Moment: The Spirit of the Living God is Active
This week’s FREE message
If you’re going to take God seriously you have to take him at his word. You have to humble yourself and accept his truth as your foundation for your worldview. If we find in his Word information that is personal to you, you must allow it to redefine who YOU are in light of this truth.
You behave according to who you believe you are. I want to help you understand and naturally live from the new creation reality that you are righteous because you’re in Jesus. The best way to do that is continually remind you of your inheritance as a child of God promised in his new covenant that is upheld by the blood of Jesus.
Righteousness – as he ought to beRighteous – innocent, faultless, guiltless, approved of God or acceptable to God
Is it a reality to you that Jesus became your sin so you could become his righteousness? This is important because if you’re serious about transformation and allowing his grace to teach you godliness then you must change who you think you are to the righteousness of God in Jesus to have any hope of outwardly living that way.
You live out of your identity. The believer under grace is delivered from the law of sin and death and the law was nailed to the cross of Christ, never to be held against you…from there we are to allow that finished work in our spirit become effectual in every aspect of our being for the sole purpose of glorifying God.
I gave you an exercise last week but I’d like for you to repeat it.
Say out loud: I am righteous
Go ahead, now is as good a time as any…
When you say it, pay attention to your inner thoughts and feelings. Do you start thinking about what you did last week? Do you start thinking of a doctrine you’ve learned along the way? Or do you take a deep breath of relief and become filled with thankfulness for what Jesus did for you?
You can take any truth or promise and apply the same exercise. Try it with provision, “God is my provider,” and persuade your heart of God’s will to be your provider.
All things are possible to those who believe!

The Law was never meant for righteousness so God offered a New Covenant in Jesus Christ through which we can receive eternal life. But have you ever wondered why God created covenants at all? You will be grounded in God’s purpose for making promises and you will have unshakable confidence in your salvation.

580. Revisiting “If We Sin Willfully…”
During a discussion on social media, a statement was made by someone that the sacrifice of Jesus "does NOT cover willful sinning." That is quite a breathtaking statement - and quite sad - and it misses the entire point of the book of Hebrews. So this week we dig a little more into this controversial passage in Hebrews. We also take a look at other scriptures about sin being taken away, that have no such added conditions regarding "willful" sin. Many scriptures plainly say that we are saved by grace, through faith (by believing), and they do not add any such caveat that this isn’t true if we sin willfully. In fact, many scriptures highlight the fact that we have the forgiveness, remission and removal of ALL sin through the blood of Jesus. The book of Hebrews was not written to scare believers, but rather to assure them of the sufficiency of the blood of Jesus. The warning about "willful sin" was not directed at people who sin, but rather at people who reject the sacrifice of Jesus as the only sacrifice that takes away all their sin.
575. How to Attain Perfection (the one-step plan)
Train Yourself To Respond To The Devil’s Lies With Faith
Several years ago the Holy Spirit began to lead me to train myself to respond in faith in each situation I encounter in life. Now, am I claiming that I respond perfectly in faith all the time – no. But this reality show I began to live in at that time was and still is […]
